Abstract
Stratigraphic and sedimentological studies of the Early Tertiary sedimentary succession of the Kala Chitta range have been made after studying a number of Stratigraphic sections during extensive field work.
The Rock contain several age diagnostic foraminifera, especially the larger foraminifera which provide valuable information regarding age evaluation and depositional style.
Some standard microfacies have also been recognized after examining a sufficient number thin sections which provide the additional knowledge for the interpretation of the environments of deposition.
The present work is the first comprehensive study of the Early tertiary rock in terms of its microfaunal content and sedimentological aspects.
